Zion Schaub is a junior at Suttons Bay High School in Suttons
Bay, Michigan. He is an honor roll student with a 3.6
GPA. Zion has played 7 years of football and was an
offensive guard on the Varsity football team during the 2008
season.
Zion started racing Go-Karts at the age of
5 where he won three consecutive championships
from 1998 through 2000. The
following 2 years, Zion
switched to Motocross
where he won several
races and earned his
nickname FLYIN' ZION.
At the age of 11, he returned to Go-Kart racing where
he finished 2nd in season points as a rookie against
15 and 16 year olds.
In 2004, Zion won 12 of 13 feature races to earn
his 4th Season Championship. The following year
Zion left Go-Kart racing to race in a
4-cylender class
at a local 3/8th mile dirt track. In his rookie year he
dominated with 8 feature wins. At age 13 he became
the youngest Season Champion in the history of
Cherry Speedway.
In 2006 Zion and his dad built and tested a Late Model for the 2007 season. That same
year he raced his 4-cylender 9 times with the record of 4 wins, 4 seconds and 1 fourth.
Zion entered the 2007 season as a 15 year old late model driver. He raced on a quarter
mile asphalt track called Northern Michigan
Speedway in Elmira, Michigan. In
his rookie year Zion won a heat race
and had 5 feature finishes in the top five.
2008 Zion raced the SuperPro Late
Model Series were he finished 6th in the
season points championship. He also
had one top ten finish in his only US Pro
Cup start at the famed Berlin Speedway.
