Zion raced for the first time with the US Pro Cup series. In the first practice session, on new tires, Zion was 6th fast. The car was very loose. We made some adjustments to make the car turn better for the second practice. Zion liked the car a lot better but it was still loose in the middle of turn three and four. Because this was Zion's first event he was required to practice, qualify and race on one set of tires, everyone else put two new tires on for qualifying. Zion qualified 9th. He started the 50 lap feature race on the inside of the 5th row. When Zion took the 7th position he was a half of a straight away behind the 6th place car who was running nose to tail with 4th and 5th. Zion was turning 18.1 second lap times and caught the next pack who was turning 18.4 second laps. Zion brought out the only caution on lap 28 when he spun out trying to pass for the 6th position. He was put to the tail of the field and finished 10th. It was a great experience for Zion. Next weeks race at Springport has been postponed. Zion's next race will be at Spartan Speedway on Wednesday, July 2nd in East Lansing, MI.
