The first race did not go as well as we hoped. At practice on Friday night Zion struggled with the handling of the car. 2008 ASA Champion Peter Cozzolino and his Car Chief Bill Vester were on hand to work with Zion and the car. Although Zion was faster than last year, the crew could not seem to get the car dialed in. Peter was able to fix a carburetor problem Friday night before we left the track. On Saturday the crew discovered a rear shock problem that was causing the mishandling issue. Unfortunately we had already qualified 22nd out of 25 cars. Zion was able to finish 15th in the 75 lap feature race. Despite all the problems, we were happy with the end result, it could have been a whole lot worse. Due to the poor economy and lack of sponsor dollars, our team has made the decision to withdraw from the second race at Baer Field Speedway in Ft. Wayne, IN on 5-30-09. Unless a new sponsor steps up this week, we will see you at Bear Field on 6-20-09 for the third race of the Superpro schedule.
